The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Agrees to Hold the Local Competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for the Glorious Qur'an Memorization for Boys and Girls in its 22nd Session During Next Ramadan

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, may Allah protect him, has agreed‫ to hold the Local Competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for the Glorious Qur'an Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation for boys and girls in its 22nd session during the Glorious month of Ramadan 1442 AH, which is organized by the Ministry. The total sum of its awards is 3,234,000 Riyals.‬‬
On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister and General Supervisor on Local and International Qur’an competitions, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh expressed his thanks and great appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, for their care about everything that serves the Glorious Qur'an and contributes to spreading its sciences. This pioneering competition is an example, and it is considered as a model for taking care of the Book of Allah and motivating young people to memorize it and compete in doing so.
His Excellency said: "His Majesty, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the wise King and just Ruler, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, may Allah protect him, has paid utmost attention to the learning and teaching of the Glorious Qur’an, and has made the same at the top of his priorities. One of the aspects of his care for the Glorious Book is this blessed award; the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Award, which has contributed over more than two decades to instilling the love of the Glorious Qur’an in the hearts of the sons and daughters of the nation, motivating them to do good and making them builders of good for the nation.
His Excellency, Dr. Abdullatif Ashaikh, explained that the Qur'an competitions are a platform for competition in the most honorable and most noble field, noting that the Local Competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for the Glorious Qur'an Memorization for boys and girls has been a torch of light, a ray of hope, and a blessed fruit of good and generous seedlings, as is evidently reflecting the care of our wise leadership for the Glorious Qur'an and its people.
Ashaikh indicated that the competition consists of the following sections: Section one: memorizing the entire Glorious Qur’an with good recitation, Tajweed and interpretation of the vocabulary of the Qur’an. Section two: memorizing the entire Glorious Qur’an with good recitation and Tajweed. Section three: memorizing twenty consecutive juz’s with good recitation and Tajweed. Section four: memorizing ten consecutive juz’s with good recitation and Tajweed. Section five: memorizing five consecutive juz’s with good recitation and Tajweed. Section six (exceptional in this session) for the sons of martyrs in the security and military sectors.
His Excellency indicated that direction has been issued to add a branch to this competition for memorizing the entire Qur’an with the seven mutawatir Narrations. The first rank winner, male and female, will receive 200,000 Riyals. The second rank award is 185,000 Riyals. The third place award is 170,000 Riyals, for both male and female winners.
His Excellency confirmed that the ministry has started working on implementing the Royal Order to hold the competition and the final qualifiers in all districts in accordance with the protocols approved by the competent authorities to ensure the safety of the contestants. The Ministry has also circulated to all charitable societies for the memorization of the Glorious Qur’an in the regions of the Kingdom to start implementing all procedures to hold the competition on time.
At the end of his statement, His Excellency asked Allah, the Most High, to reward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince for their continuous support for the work and programs of the Ministry and, all that is beneficial for the sons and daughters of the country. He also supplicated to Allah to maintain security, safety and prosperity in our country and protect it and all countries of the world from epidemics.‬‬
