Completion of Processing Some Notes on the Uthmanic Script Fonts Produced by KFGQOC in TTF Format
Thanks to Allah’s support, the Information Technology Department at King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex has completed modifying some notes that occurred to the collection of (Uthmanic Script Fonts) produced by KFGQOC in a format compatible with the international coding (Unicode). These glitches resulted from the update that took place on the operating system (Windows 10). The problem lies in the overlap of the diacritical marks over each other in the letters that require showing more than two diacritical marks (such as some letters that require showing four diacritical marks over them ((Shadda with fatha above it, al-Alif al-Sughra and al-Mad above it)) as shown in the attached sample. For example, If the same document is opened in (Office) in (Windows 8), there would be no problem or overlap between the diacritical marks. However, if the same document is opened in (Windows 10) the said error appears. Due to Allah’s support, the aforementioned notes have been rectified and processed in the eight modes of reading previously published by KFGQOC in TTF format on its website: https://fonts.Qur'anComplex.gov.sa. These Narrations are (Hafs, Shu’bah, al-Dauri, al-Susi, Warsh, Qalun, al-Bazzi and Qunbul). Currently, this document is working perfectly with no problems or overlaps between diacritical marks in the operating system (Windows 10), as well as any other version of it. |
