His Excellency the Minister and Chairman of the Russian Muftis of Shura Council Sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the Fields of Islamic Work

His Excellency the Minister Shaikh, Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh and Chairman of the Russian Muftis of Shura Council, President of the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Shaikh Rawi Ainuddin, signed today, Sunday, the thirteenth of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1441 AH, a memorandum of understanding in the field of Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance, the Russian Muftis of Shura Council and the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the Ministry , the Muftis of Shura Council and the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation. 

The memorandum provides for cooperation in the Islamic fields, and includes introducing Islam and its tolerant values, cooperation in the service of the Glorious Qur’an and the Sunnah, exchange of researches, books and scientific publications in various languages, in addition to holding scientific symposia and joint training courses. The memorandum also includes the participation of scholars and preachers specialized in Islamic affairs in conferences and symposia in both countries, and the exchange of experiences in the affairs of Mosques, architecture and maintenance thereof. 

It is noteworthy that the signing of the memorandum is consistent with the developed Saudi-Russian relations, which witness cooperation in various fields, in light of the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to upgrade these relations in order to achieve all that is good and beneficial for the two friendly countries. The signing of the memorandum is also consistent with Kingdom’s mission and its wise leadership in serving Islam and Muslims, and spreading the tolerant values of Islam based on moderation and renunciation of extremism and radicalism in all countries of the world.
