His Excellency the Minister Chairs the 12th Executive Council Meeting of Awqaf Ministers Conference Held in Amman

His Excellency the Minister, Chairman of the Executive Council of Awqaf Ministers and Islamic Affairs Conference of Muslim States, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, will chair the meetings of the twelfth session of the Council, which will be held on the fourteenth and fifteenth of Rabi’ al-Thani 1441 AH, corresponding to December 11-12, 2019 A.D. in the Jordanian capital, Amman, under the auspices of the Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Omar Razzaz. The Council will discuss a number of topics on the agenda, including the topics submitted by the Ministry relating to introducing regulations and programs to protect pulpits from speech of hate, extremism and terrorism, as well as the topic of common human values, coexistence, tolerance, review of the experiences of the Ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in terms of the technical and architectural specifications in building Mosques and maintenance of works, and exchange of experiences and systems in the field of appointing Imams, preachers, muezzins, in addition to the programs and responsibilities assigned to them. Additionally, the council will discuss the modern means of communication and the role of the Ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in order to benefit from them. The Council will also discuss the topic proposed by the General Authority for Awqaf in the Kingdom on the Endowments’ role in increasing Gross Domestic Product in Islamic countries, as well as proposals of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait in strengthening the role of citizenship in the countries of the Islamic world, its impact on the stability of Islamic societies, the Islamic privacy in the light of cultural globalization and renewal of religious discourse between reality and expectations. As for the Ministry of Awqaf in the Arab Republic of Egypt, it has submitted topics on the danger of providing fatwa without knowledge or competency, and the controls of talking about public affairs. It is noteworthy that the Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the Islamic World countries aims to enhance Islamic solidarity among Muslim member states, coordinate and cooperate among member states in the fields of da’wah, endowments and Islamic affairs. The Conference also aims to detect and refute anti-Islam doctrines and trends, exert all efforts to activate the da’wah for the correct understanding of Islam in the world, in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, as well as the consensus of the righteous predecessors of the Ummah, beside coordinating stances among Member States in order to work towards respecting mosques, and preserving the sacred sites and their safety. Moreover, it aims to support relations with Islamic organizations, bodies, institutions and centers abroad, and to coordinate among them, so that they can achieve their Islamic mission, as well as coordinating the efforts to assist Muslim minorities in preserving their faith, identity and culture within the societies in which they live.
