His Excellency the Minister Heads the Kingdom’s Delegation in Al-Azhar Conference to be Held in Cairo Next Monday His Excellency Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, heads the Kingdom’s delegation participating in Al-Azhar International Conference on Renewal of Islamic Thought and Islamic sciences, organized by Al-Azhar in the Egyptian Capital, Cairo, under the auspices of His Excellency the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on Monday and Tuesday, 2nd and 3rd of Jumada al-Thani 1441 AH, corresponding to January 27-28, 2020 A.D., with the participation of an elite group of senior leaders and prominent political and religious figures in the world. His Excellency’s participation in the Conference is a response to the invitation of the His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Mohammad Ahmed El-Tayeb. His Excellency will deliver a speech at the opening session of the Conference that is held to discuss six main issues, including the revival of Islamic sciences, mechanism of preparing enlightened Muslim Khatibs, mechanisms of renewing the religious discourse, the Sciences of language, the Qur’an, Sunnah, Usul al-Fiqh, al-Kalam, Aqidah and philosophy. This Conference aims at renewing religious discourse, correcting the misconceptions stuck in the minds of some people, as well as protecting young people from the ideas of the extremist organizations, raising awareness, combatting the trends of extremism and terrorism, freeing up religious discourse, and correcting the misconceptions which were rooted in the minds of many people.
