His Excellency the Minister Receives the President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in Chad
His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, received, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters, on Wednesday the twenty seventh of Jumada Al-Awal 1441 AH, the President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in the Republic of Chad, Dr. Mahamat Khatir Issa, and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the Kingdom currently. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency, Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh, welcomed the President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in the Republic of Chad, and the Second Vice President of the Supreme Council, The General Mufti for the country, His Eminence Shaikh Saleh Mohammad Ramadan, and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay at their second country the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He noted the deep historical relation between the two brotherly countries and their cooperation in various fields, especially the field of the Islamic affairs. His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Abdullatif Ashaikh, stressed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the wise King and just Ruler, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, may Allah support him, and the follow-up by His Highness the Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah support him, is assuming a great mission of which it is proud, i.e. serving Islam and Muslims all over the world, as well as taking care of the Two Holy Mosques and sacred places, and serving the guests of Allah who come to the sacred lands, which is the source of pride for all Saudis. His Excellency the Minister stated that the Kingdom has taken special care of Qur’an and Sunnah, since they are the source of the Islamic laws. That is why it has established the biggest printing house in the world to print the Glorious Qur’an, that the Ministry has the honor to supervise its works. His Excellency reviewed the achievements of King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex in Madinah, the latest of which was printing more than 18 million copies of different version and in multiple international languages, all of them are distributed for free, to spread the Glorious Qur’an and support Muslims everywhere. This is the message of the Kingdom to the Islamic world. His Excellency the Minister Ashaikh displayed to the President of the Council and his accompanying delegation the efforts undertaken by the Ministry to spread the Islamic Da'wah according to the approach of moderation, as well as avoiding exaggeration and extremism, taking care of the Khatibs, and establishing qualitative programs that serve the Islamic work. His Excellency noted that the responsibility of workers in the sectors of Da'wah and Islamic affairs are being doubled amid the attacks launched by extremist groups that are in breach of Islamic teachings, and that are trying to undermine Muslims and distort their identity However, the Islamic religion will stay pure and free of any flaws, thanks to Allah, then thanks to the cooperation and synergy between all scholars and people who are loyal to Islam. For his part, the President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in Chad, Dr. Mahamat Khatir Issa, expressed his great happiness for meeting His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, and the chief officials at the Ministry, noting the cordial reception. He looked forward to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the Ministry and the Council to spread the values and tolerance of Islam, serve the Islamic Da'wah, and fight all aspects of extremism and terrorism threatening the Islamic societies. Dr. Mahamat Khatir praised the leading role performed by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, to serve Islam and Muslims, as well as taking care of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, and offering all kinds of facilitation and services for those who perform Hajj, Umrah and visitors. He asserted that the Kingdom has good impression on all Islamic countries all over the world, especially the Republic of Chad, since there are several landmarks and projects that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has offered to Chad, including the Mosque of the late King Faisal, which is the biggest Islamic landmark that proves the Kingdom's care for its brothers. The President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in Chad, Dr. Mahamat Khatir Issa, added: "The Kingdom is the Islamic reference for all Muslims. Its role in spreading safety, peace and stability to Muslim and non-Muslim peoples is clear and undeniable, noting that the High Council supports the leadership of the Kingdom in all its measures to spread peace and safety, and to protect the Two Holy Mosques and Islamic sacred places." Khatir praised the leading role of the Ministry led by His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, in spreading moderation and combating all aspects of exaggeration and extremism that resulted from the fact that scholars are away from objectives of Sharia, that orders us to be merciful and just, and to spread love and coexistence. He pointed out that the Council is keen, through this meeting, on expanding joint cooperation with the Ministry to benefit from its experience in serving Islam, enhancing the positive aspects of the communities, and contributing to raise the communities' awareness of the danger of exaggeration, extremism and terrorism that stems from the groups that politicized Islam and got away from its tolerant teachings. The President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in the Republic of Chad reasserted that the responsibility is heavy over the workers in Islamic Affairs sectors in the Islamic world to raise the communities' awareness about the danger of the deviant groups, and to call everyone to join the Kingdom and its leadership in spreading good, serving Islam and protecting it, and preserving the Islamic sacred places. He also extended his thanks to the Kingdom’s leadership for their good offices to protect the faith and unit Muslims to face the challenges surrounding the Islamic nation. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs, Shaikh Muhammad bin Abdelwahed Al-Arifi, and the Undersecretary for Mosque’s Affairs, Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh bin Saeed, and from the Chadian side, the Second Vice President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs General Mufti and Imam and Preacher of King Faisal Mosque, Ahmed Al-Noor Al-Helw, and the Head of the Department of Da'wah and Khatibs at the Council, Shaikh Saleh Muhammad Ramadan, and a number of the Council’s leaders.
