His Excellency the Minister Receives the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Cambodia
His Excellency the Minister Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin AbdulAziz Al Ashaikh, received in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters today, Monday the ninth of Jumada Al-Thani 1441 AH, with the Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Highest Council For Islamic Religious Affairs in the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Eminence Shaikh Qamar Al-Din bin Yusuf, and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the Kingdom at the moment. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the Mufti of Cambodia and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in their second country, the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His excellency stressed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the wise King and just Ruler Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, may Allah protect them, is concerned with serving Islam and Muslims, and does its best to assist and support every rational act that serves humanity and contributes to uniting Muslims. His Excellency indicated that the Kingdom is the home of all Muslims in the world, and it adopts the issues of Muslims all over the world, in accordance with its position and geographical location, since it is the sacred land to which Muslims all over the world head to five times per day. In addition, Muslims from all countries of the world go there to perform Hajj, and it is the only country in the world that is ruled by Qur’an and Sunnah in all its affairs. Besides, all people of the Kingdom are proud of the efforts that their country offers to humanity. His Excellency Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh emphasized that the Ministry, under the directives of the Rulers of this blessed country, extends bridges of communication with the various Islamic leaders all over the world to develop prospects of cooperation with them, in order to spread the tolerant values and teachings of Islam that are based on moderation, spreading tolerance and avoiding violence and extremism, that contradict the religion of Islam and its teachings, so that the Kingdom's noble mission is accomplished. For his part, the Mufti of the Kingdom of Cambodia expressed his happiness to meet His Excellency Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh, referring to the warm reception and cordial hospitality since their arrival in the Kingdom, and to his looking forward to strengthening joint cooperation between the two countries to spread the values and tolerance of Islam, to spread moderation, and to benefit from the Kingdom’s experience in serving Islam and spreading the culture of dialogue and tolerance. Shaikh Qamar Al-Din bin Yusuf praised the great efforts made by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al- Saud, may Allah protect them, in taking care of the Two Holy Mosques, and providing all facilitations and distinguished services to those who visit them from various countries all over the world. He stressed that the Muslims of Cambodia appreciate the care by the Kingdom's government to those who perform Hajj and Umrah, and pay tribute to the Mega projects presented by the Kingdom to make Hajj an easy journey. The Mufti of Cambodia extended his thanks and great gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, for their care of the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia in general, and the scholarship students in particular, who in turn convey the Kingdom's clear message, that introduces the moderate and enlightened Islam, which contributes to unity, serves humanity and renounces all forms of violence and terrorism that contradict with the religion of compassion and love. The meeting tackled some aspects of common interest, especially what is related to the conditions of Muslims in the Kingdom of Cambodia, and ways of joint cooperation to serve Islamic work in its various fields. The Undersecretary of Mosque Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh bin Saeed, and the Advisor at the office of His Excellency the Minister, Mr. Abdan bin Ahmed Al-Abdan, and from the Cambodian side, the Assistant Director of the Highest Council for Islamic Religious Affairs in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Shaikh Sa Muhammad, and a number of members of the Council, attended the meeting. The two sides also exchanged souvenirs at the end of the meeting.
