His Excellency the Minister approves preliminary qualifiers of the competition for King Salman Prize for the Holy Qur'an memorization.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is organizing the local competition for King Salman Prize for the Holy Qur'an memorization, interpretation and recitation for boys and girls, in its 20th session, whose events have been launched at all districts and governorates of the Kingdom on Sunday 14/2/1441 AH, while the final qualifiers for the competition and the closing ceremony will be held in the month of Shaaban of this year 1441 AH, with the permission of Allah. His Excellency the Minister Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdul Aziz Al-AShaikh has confirmed that the award, which is held every year under the patronage the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Righteous King and the Just Ruler, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah support him, has a great impact on Saudis, whether males or females, so that they are linked to the Book of Allah, the Almighty, and would adopt the right moderate path which the Noble Qur'an guides to. This competition has yielded good results and distinguished levels in memorization and performance during its past sessions. In this regard, he noted the blessed efforts and actions made by the leaders of this blessed country, the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the field of serving the Noble Qur'an, in terms of its printing and publishing ,and honoring its memorizers with generous awards, as well as establishing schools concerned with its memorization it in the public education, and establishing colleges specialized in the Qur'an and its sciences, pointing out that these efforts have a great impact, on preserving the times of young people, protecting their ideas from deviation, and enhancing their morals with lofty values and high ideals that are learned from the Book of Allah, the Most High. His Excellency pointed out that the Ministry has allocated, in this session of the competition, a special section for the children of the martyrs of duty in the military and security sectors in the Kingdom, because of the special attention and appreciation from the wise leadership to the families of the martyrs of duty. The charitable societies for the memorization of the Noble Qur'an in all districts of the Kingdom, which assume the preliminary qualifiers for this competition, have been directed to that. His Excellency also praised the organized efforts made by the charitable societies for the memorization of the Noble Qur'an in the Kingdom’s districts and governorates for the preliminary qualifiers under the supervision of the Ministry. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to those in charge of the same for their distinguished efforts. For his part, the General Secretariat of the competition has pointed out that His Excellency, the Minister, has directed to increase the awards of the winners of the competition, boys and girls, in this current session, and as a way of honoring the memorizers of the Qur'an, in order to stimulate the competition in memorizing and mastering it.
