His Excellency the Minister directs precautionary measures in Mosques to limit the spread of Corona Virus

In the light of the Ministry’s follow-up on the developments of Corona Virus (COVID19), out of concern for the safety of worshippers and mosque-goers, and in order to strengthen the precautionary measures to prevent its spread, His Excellency, the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, has issued today a resolution that includes reducing the time between the Adhan and the Iqamah to ten minutes for the five daily prayers. Also, the time of the Friday sermon and Friday and prayer will be limited only to 15 minutes. Hosting Iftar for the people who are fasting, Itikaaf, food and dates will be banned in Mosques, as well as removing used water cups next to water coolers.
