Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance Launches Projects for King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance, General Supervisor of King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al Shaikh, has launched a number of projects implemented by KFGQPC.
The projects included the following:
- Printing a new Musḥaf of regular size 13.5×19.3 cm, in which each paper does not necessarily end with an Ayah.
- A new MusḥafMusḥafMusḥaf of the big size 35×24.5 cm, which was printed with the enhanced new font.
- Translation of the Meanings of the Glorious Qur’an into Tagalog, which is the official language of Philippines, and which is spoken by fifty million people.
- 14 translations on the website of KFGQPC including the following languages: Amazigh, Basa, Tagalog, Dagbania, Tajik, Malay, Mandarin, Anko, Turkish, Telugu, Persian, Vietnamese, Malayalam and Nepali.
- Thematic interpretation of the Meanings of the Glorious Qur’an in sign language with selected subjects which people with disabilities need, including six publications of the following subjects: Aqidah (faith), purification, prayer, worship, transactions, ethics and manners.
- The ability to roam around in the Prophet's Mosque using virtual reality headsets. The headsets include a series of high-quality 360-degree photos, including the very old Prophet’s Mosque in its entirety, starting from the Bab al-Salam, path of Bab Jibril, Glorious Raudah and Al Haswatan, Path to Bab-al-Rahma and the outdoor yards, from the top of lighthouses, the exhibition of manuscripts, etc. The virtual reality headsets allow to watch the panoramic photos as per the chosen location inside the Prophet's Mosque.
The Minister has confirmed that the Ministry has been honored to supervise the works of KFGQPC and serving the Glorious Qur’an and its Sciences, develop and encourage its publications and diversification thereof, in a manner that serves Muslims everywhere, in order to achieve the aspirations of our wise leadership. The Minister has also noted that KFGQPC has achieved a quantum leap in terms of the level and efficiency of production, after the Ministry has assumed the operation of KFGQPC on its own, by increasing the production to 100%. In 1405 A.H. the production of KFGQPC has started with five million copies. During the recent years, the production has reached nine million copies. During the last two years, the production reached 18 million copies per annum of all versions with high quality. Although the surrounding circumstances left by the Covid-19 pandemic, KFGQPC has maintained the high level of productivity while preserving the health of KFGQPC personnel. During this short period of time, KFGQPC has witnessed printing of 16 million copies till today. During the next two months of this year, KFGQPC shall complete its production plan to reach 18,500,000 copies.
At the end of his statement, the Minister extended his thanks to the those in charge and the workers of KFGQPC. He congratulated them on the successful implementation of the strategic plan to upgrade the efficiency of the productivity and improve the quality, as well as launching new initiatives to develop the work for serving the Glorious Qur’an, in addition to the achievement of KFGQPC mission as per Vision 2030, aiming to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a pioneering and leading country across the world.
On the other hand, Minister of Islamic Affairs, the General Supervisor of KFGQPC has made an inspection tour across KFGQPC and its facilities, departments and its production lines, during which he ensured the workflow is going as per the approved plan.
