The Ministry emphasizes checking the loudspeakers in mosques

His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, issued a circular confirming the importance of tuning the loudspeakers in the mosques and fixing the current disturbance that results in the failure to achieve the intended religious objective. The circular included that four loudspeakers outside the mosque are sufficient and that they would be fixed to the minaret. In addition, the prescribed sound volume will be approved which is a degree below average and the use of sound enhancers inside mosques will be strictly forbidden. Moreover, the exaggerated number of internal speakers will be avoided, and the number of speakers which are really needed in producing the sound are sufficient. Furthermore, no lessons or lectures will be broadcasted on external amplifiers. His Excellency stressed that the branches’ officials must follow up and supervise the mosques and that the directors, departments, supervisors and personnel thereof must abide by the instructions as well as conducting field surveys to know the number of speakers which exist inside and outside each mosque. Additionally, the discipline and the adherence to the instructions issued from the Ministry must be observed in this regard. This circular comes in view of what the Ministry noticed of the loud sound of the loudspeakers and the Ministry was keen not to disturb the worshippers, and to prevent the interference of sounds and raise the tone the sound, and take care about all segments of society including the sick and elderly people.
