His Excellency the Minister: Temporary Suspension of Umrah for Citizens and Residents is an Extension of the Efforts made by the Wise Leadership to Prevent the Spread of Corona Virus in the Kingdom
His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh, praised the resolution to temporarily suspend Umrah for citizens and residents in the Kingdom. He also said that this resolution comes as an extension of the continuous efforts made by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the wise King and just Ruler, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and with the follow-up by His Highness the Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman, may Allah maintain their success, to protect the pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques, citizens and residents in accordance with the purposes of Islamic Sharia, which emphasize preservation of souls, and which achieve the interests of human societies and keep harm away from them. This came in a press statement of His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh, following the statement of the Ministry of Interior, which was issued today to prohibiting citizens and residents from performing Umrah during the current period as part of the precautionary steps to prevent the spread of Corona virus. His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh, indicated that the resolution to suspend Umrah for those who are inside the Kingdom comes as confirmation of the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness, Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman, to support the efforts of the countries and international organizations, especially the World Health Organization, to stop and contain the spreading of the virus until it is eradicated. His Excellency the Minister, Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Ashaikh, reiterated that the Kingdom, with its decisions related to stopping Umrah from inside or outside the Kingdom, proves to the whole world that it is dealing with this file within the framework of full responsibility to preserve the souls of Muslims who wish to perform Umrah, being as a protector and servant of the Two Holy Mosques, and a leader of the Islamic world. The Kingdom also confirms that it does not deal with this matter from any economic point of view, as some parties are trying to promote. At the end of his statement, His Excellency noted the concerted efforts exerted by all the sectors and entities of the state to implement and achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership aiming to protect the citizens, residents and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques from Corona virus. He supplicated to Allah, the Most High, to maintain the safety and stability of the Kingdom, keep evils and pandemics away from it, cure the Muslim patients and grant them speedy recovery.
