Journal of Qur’anic Research and Studies at King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex

The journal is periodically issued by the King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex. It is a scholarly journal specialized in the Glorious Qur’an and its sciences, under the general supervision of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance, His Excellency Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ashaikh. The journal’s Editor in Chief is Secretary General of King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, Shaikh Talal bin Razen Al-Rehaili and the Deputy Editor in Chief is the Deputy Secretary General for Scholarly Affairs, Dr. Mu’id bin Musa’ad Al-Awfi and the Editorial Director is Dr. Abdul Ghafoor bin Abdulhaq Al-Balochi. Members of the editorial board are:

Dr. Musad bin Musaad Al-Husseini.

The journal aims to:

  1. enrich scholarly research in the Glorious Qur’an and its sciences.
  2. Increase interest in Qur’anic studies and translation of the meanings of the Glorious Qur’an.
  3. Contribute to the publication of Qur’anic research and studies.
  4. Bolster the library with serious Qur’anic research and studies.
  5. Bolster the library with serious Qur’anic research and studies.

The journal’s issues feature the following:

  1. specialized research and studies on the Qur’an and its sciences.
  2. Edited manuscripts related to the Glorious Qur’an and its sciences.
  3. Scholarly works related to translations of the meanings and sciences of the Glorious Qur’an and evaluating them.
  4. Abstracts of Arabic papers in the English section of the journal, and abstracts of English research in the Arabic section of the journal.

In publishing scholarly materials, the journal abides by the following guidelines:

  1. that the paper is free of what contradicts with the mainstream Islamic doctrine
  2. That papers and studies contribute to achieving the goals of the journal.
  3. That the references of the paper are reliable and scholarly, and are cited from the highly regarded scholars in their fields of specialization.
  4. That the manuscript is not published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  5. That the manuscript is not part of a published research by the researcher or a thesis with which he/she obtained an academic degree.
  6. The researcher must write an acknowledgment that he/she has neither previously published the paper nor submitted it to another publishing body.
  7. The researcher must follow the genuine rules and methodology of scholarly research and the principles of editing Islamic heritage materials.
  8. That the manuscript is distinguished in terms of innovation, scholarly addition and precise approach.
  9. That previous studies on the same subject are referred to as well highlighting the contribution that the current paper adds.
  10. That it is accompanied by an abstract in Arabic and English, not exceeding one page including the most important research topics and results.
  11. That the pages neither exceed sixty pages nor are less than twenty pages.
  12. The researcher will provide a brief description of their academic biography and contact addresses.
  13. The researcher will submit a hard copy of their participation and to which a digital copy will be attached in accordance with the publication guidelines of the journal.
  14. The researcher is not entitled to withdraw their research after refereeing, except by the approval of the editorial board.
  15. The manuscript will not be returned to the researcher whether published or not.
  16. The journal is not obliged to notify the researcher of the reasons for not accepting their research.
  17. The author of each published paper shall be given two copies of the issue in which their paper appears and ten offprints of it.
  18. The researcher is not entitled to re-publish their research, except five years after its publication.
  19. The contributions featuring in each issue shall be arranged alphabetically according to their respective titles.
  20. Publication rules and guidelines and documentation method shall be highlighted at the beginning of each issue of the journal.

The first edition of the journal was issued in Muharram 1427 AH and it has so far published 21 issues. They included researches and scholarly studies in various aspects related to the Glorious Qur’an and its sciences, editing of a number of heritage works in the sciences of the Qur’an, and scholarly studies related to translating the meanings of the Glorious Qur’an.
The twenty-second issue is currently being printed. The twenty-third issue will be ready soon.
